Communion with Sea Turtle “Honu”
I would like to share a story of an encounter I had with the sea turtle kingdom. These beautiful creatures live in the oceans of Hawaii-Nei and are quite large. Their shell is hard and decorated with symmetric oblong shapes and their head is quite large and also has smaller oblong markings on it. Their eyes are big, tail small and their legs are quite powerful to push them through the rough currents of the ocean.
I visited a beach one day down in the Poipu region of Kauai. I call it “baby beach” for it is a small plot of sand enclosed with a high lava stone wall. There is a small pool of water to sit in which is fed from the ocean waves coming up and over the rocks surrounding it. I went there to work on some karma I hit with the dolphin and whale kingdom.
I had never seen whales before moving to Kauai and when they came to the islands in November, I was excited to see them and commune. However, in the exchange of blessings, I did not stay sovereign in my dream and entered their dream. There was an exchange of information and sharing that occurred which was a way my ancestors interacted with their species long ago. My ancestry also encountered electrical pods of whales and dolphins and in the exchange of blessings they were shattered. In the recent blessings that occurred between our species, I hit karma with a sorcerer whale and was stripped quite extensively so I went to the beach for some healing and to repair myself.
While lying on the beach, something got my attention for I sat straight up and was guided to look out toward the ocean. On the rocks that separated the pool of water from the ocean sat a large sea turtle. It blended in with the rocks and perhaps it had been sitting there all along but I did not see it until now. It got my attention for the tide was coming in and in a few minutes it was going to be washed off the rocks and back into the ocean. Had I not seen it sitting on the rocks, I would not have known there was even anyone there.
I got up and walked over to the edge of the rock barrier and watched him slide gently into the ocean on the other side which was much deeper than the pool of water. I watched him bob up and down in the sway of the waves and then, he popped his big head out of the water and looked right at me! I started to cry for I knew he had been there while I was working on myself, separating from the whales and dolphins and he had been assisting me by anchoring space. I opened my heart to commune and send blessings but froze up a bit for I did not want to blend with their kingdom.
He shared with me that I did not have this karma with his species and that I would stay in my own dream and him in his. As we exchanged blessings, he highlighted the next layer of armoring to clear from around my heart. As I started to tune into why it was there, what surfaced was another layer of many thought forms and patterning surrounding the fear of blessing; fear of having my heart opened, fear of receiving blessing and a fear of having my heart be vulnerable to energetic blows that might occur through the blessings.
I cried as I removed the beads, thought forms and patterns and dissolved the pain and armoring. A few parts of my fractured inner children returned and in the recasting they shared the painful memories when this occurred and we released the pain and memories in full. We searched out all ancestral dances where my ancestors shattered and were shattered by others through the act of blessing from the heart and we forgave and released this next layer of karma in full.
I watched sea turtle nibble on some algae that was growing on the sides of the rocks and watched him keep his balance in the water as the waves came rolling in. He did not crash up against the rocks but stayed steadfast, going with the flow of the water and then when the waves subsided, he went back to nibbling the seaweed. As I watched him, I noticed there was another large bobbing object in the water next to him and it was another turtle!
I then panned out over the ocean in this little alcove and noticed that there were many turtles in the ocean, about six of them. This area must be a feeding ground due to all the algae growing on the sides of the rocks. It was fun trying to spot them for every once in a while you would see a head pop out of the ocean and then go under. Also, if you watched the waves you could see their large deep turquoise green shells floating therein.
More healing took place and I felt blessed to be able to explore the next layer of healing my heart with their kingdom. I knew they would not shatter me when I blessed them and this allowed me freely to open my heart and exchange the blessings in full. I have shared many blessings with the nature kingdoms before and as we all know, they do not have to be present in the physical for one to receive their healing, blessings, messages and love. However, having them here in the physical was a treat and I truly felt blessed.
When it was time for me to go, I sent out one last blessing, thanking them for being here and assisting me with my clearing. In return, three turtles popped there heads out of the water and looked at me. I received their blessings in return and felt our dance was complete.
I have seen sea turtle since then at various beaches on the island, most dancing in the waves and one that was sitting in the sand on the beach. There is calmness about them and perhaps it is due to living in the water and being so connected to the element of water that they sit in a place of timeless peace.
I thank their kingdom for all the assistance they have provided on my journey and I send out many blessings to all those who are also working on healing and opening their hearts and learning to be more at peace in the dance of life.
