ART IN GLASS Monica and Ettore are from Italy and have been searching for many years to find a way to express their creativity, love and compassion through glass art.  Some years ago Monica learned a special technique called "Tiffany", the name of the man who invented it.  Then Monica and Ettore created many pieces of art that were very much appreciated, but none of them sold. Following Hawaii Conclave in 2006, Monica understood that the nature kingdoms would like to be represented through their glass work.  She simply allowed her hands to draw what she envisions in the exchange of blessings with each kingdom. Each drawing is made and colored upon paper and then traced upon cardboard.  Then the cardboard is cut into pieces in order to separate each particular layer of the drawing.  Each layer is then traced upon the colored glass produced in the US and imported to Italy (the color on each glass is not homogeneous, but streaked into many tones from dark to light.)  The glass is cut with a glass cutter into the correct shapes and then perfected with a diamond lap or hacksaw to allow each layer to fit together properly.  Then a special copper sticky tape is attached to each layer around the edges along with hanging copper wires which are soldered together with a welder and some tin.  A special glaze is added to prevent oxidation of the tin.  Then the fine lines are added to each drawing with a colored paste.  The overlapping pieces of glass are glued upon the mirror and to one another for the final outcome of art in glass.
